Khumbu is not only famous for it being the home of the world’s highest mountain, but also because of the fascinating and beautiful Sherpa villages that occupy this region. This slow paced exploration of the Khumbu is designed to help the visitors enjoy the grandeur of the Khumbu peaks and allow time to mix with the Sherpas experiencing their warm hospitality.
This is an ideal trek for those who wish to savor the richness of the Sherpa culture by exploring their homeland and visiting their cultural centers, as well as enjoying magnificence of the Everest region without taking the strenuous trail to Base Camp. We will be visiting Sherpa houses and staying overnight there as well as joining local festivals that usually get organized by local people. Mani Ramdu and Dumji, the major Sherpa festivals observed in Spring and Autumn seasons, are the main feature of this trek.
