Tibet has a total population of more than 2.56 million, among which Tibetan takes up 94.7%. Other main nationalities include Hon, Menba, Luoba, Hui, Naxi etc.

 Tibet Cultural Exploration Tour (Fly In Drive out 13 Days)


The breathtaking trans-himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa and the overland route from Lhasa to Nepal offer truly spectacular views of the Himalayas, mountain passes, ancient monasteries and fortresses from a bygone era. We begin our tour by exploring fabled Lhasa: the majestic Potala Palace towers over the entire Lhasa Valley. The Drepung monastery is the largest monastic university in Tibet; the Jokhang is the central cathedral; and the surrounding Barkhor market is bustling with pilgrims and traders Then we drive along the Yamdrok Tso Lake and Turquoise Lake to Gyantse to the Kumbum Stupa, a unique and magnificent 6 storey stupa consisting of 112 chapels, a Buddhist hall and a prayer hall.

We arrive at Shigatse, where Tashilhunpo Monastery is located. The Tashilhunpo is the seat of the Panchen Lama, one of the biggest Gelugpa monasteries in Central Tibet. It enshrines a nine storey bronze statue of Maitreya Buddha. We also visit the Shakya Monastery, Shegar before returning to Kathmandu via Zhangmu (Khasa) of the Tibet-Nepal border.

Program Details:

Day 01: Kathmandu – Lhasa
Fly over the great Himalayas to Lhasa. Drive to Tsedang- a small city formed in the lap of a holiest mountain in Tibet called Mt. Gongbori & check into your hotel. Rest for acclimatization.

Day 02: Tsenang
Explore the Yarlung Tsangpo Valley – the cradle of Tibetan civilization, visit Samye monastery which was founded by second religious king while Prominent Buddhist came from India & Yongbulakhang – the castle built by first king of Tibet named Yarlong. O/N at hotel.

Day 03: Gyantse
Drive to Gyantse via Yamdrok Tso lake & explore. Gyantse is located at the head of the trade route to Sikkim & Darjeeling. Then continue to Khumbu Stupa – one of the Tibet's most revered & unusal architectural masterpiece. Also visit Palkhor Chode monastery which is next to the Kumbum. O/N at hotel.

Day 04: Shigatse
Drive too Shigatse via Shalu monastery. Shigatse is the second largest town of Tibet & visit Tashilunpo monastery – the seat of Panchen Lama is situated. O/N at hotel.

Day 05: Lhasa
Today you will be driven to Lhasa – the heart of Tibet, which remained isolated from the outside world for centuries; situated, at an elevation 3,650m at the Kyichu riverbank. O/N at hotel.

Day 06: Lhasa
Excursion tour to Drepung – is the largest monastery in Tibet, which was founded in 1416. Then continue to Sera monastery- one of the great institutions of Gelugpa Sect.

Day 07: Visit (Fri /Mon)
Potala Palace – gold roofed Palace built in the time of fifth Dalai Lama. And explore Jokhang temple – spiritual center of Tibet founded in 7th century by the king Songtsen Gompa & then continue to Barkhor – a colorful market. Finally visit Norbu Linkha, the summer palace of Dalai Lama. O/N at hotel.

Day 08: Lhasa – Kathmandu
After breakfast drive to the airport to board your flight to Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.

 North Everest Base Camp Tour, Ronbuk, Tibet


It does not require the long strenuous trek to reach Mt. Everest Base Camp on the Tibetan side like does the base camp requires on the Nepal side. The base camp can actually be reached by road via the Tibetan monastery at Ronbuk.  This tours takes those who do not wish to hike or climb to one of the best vantage points of the highest mountain in the world.  In addition to Mt. Everest, we will take in many of the cultural highlights of Tibet including the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Gyantse, and Shigatse.
