This trip to the holy
Mt. Kailash and nearby lake Mansarovar in Tibet is
lighter on hiking, than the long trek from Simikot in
Nepal, opting instead to reach the mountain by jeep
across the barren passes and rolling plains of western
Tibet. While the trekking component of this trip
is only a 3 days, the kora around Mt. Kailash is
strenuous hike, crossing a 5,650 m pass. This trip
offers a glimpse of one of the most beautiful, remote,
and scared regions of the world. The desolate
expansive landscape of canyons, rolling plains, and snow
capped peaks is an awe inspiring sight. It is a
region of the world that should be on everyone's must
see list.
