This is a wonderful trek through lovely Gurung and Magar villages before the trail descends into the Kali Gandaki Valley located between the peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This valley is an important migration route for birds that fly from the Siberian steppes and Tibetan Plateau towards the south in the winter. The trail follows the ancient trade route to Mustang and Tibet and passes through arid Tibet-like landscapes in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, before reaching the pilgrimage town of Muktinath (3,658 m) sacred to both Hindu's and Buddhists. For this trek we will either fly into or out of Jomsom depending on your preference.  While hiking in and flying out allows more time for acclimatization, flying in and hiking out minimizes the amount of up hill trekking but care must be taken in the first few days to properly acclimatize.  The itinerary shown below is for trekking in but it may be reversed for those who wish to fly into Jomsom instead.

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu. O/N Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara. O/N in Hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Naya Pul start trek. O/N camp at Birethanti.
Day 05: Trek Birethanti to Ghorepani. O/N at camp.
Day 06: Trek Ghorepani to Tatopani. O/N at camp.
Day 07: Trek Tatopani to Larjung. O/N at camp.
Day 08: Trek Larjung to Marpha. O/N at camp.
Day 09: Rest day. O/N at camp.
Day 10: Trek to Jomsom. O/N at camp.
Day 11: Trek to Muktinath. O/N at camp
Day 12: Trek to Jomsom. O/N at camp or hotel.
Day 13: Fly back to Pokhara/Kathmandu. O/N in hotel.
Day 14: Sightseeing in Kathmandu. O/N in hotel.
Day 15: Transfer to airport for Departure.
