 The Glimpse of Nepal (6 Nights / 7 Days)

Overview:

Gorkha known as the ancient Nepal is the ancestral home of the Shah dynasty which ruled Nepal for about two centuries. This region too, offers the most popular modes of adventure holidays trips. White Water rafting through gorges and lush valley explorers the wilds of the jungle down at Royal Chitwan National Park. Then it is extravagantly glorified by cultural tours of Kathmandu city and temples.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.
Day 02: Visit Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Kasthamandap. O/N at hotel.
Day 03: Raft and drive to Gorkha. O/N at hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Pokhara O/N at hotel.
Day 05: Sightseeing of Phewa Lake, Seti River and Patale Chhangu etc. O/N at hotel.
Day 06: Flight to Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.
Day 07: Transfer to airport for onward destination.

 

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu. Meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. The tour manager will give pre-tour briefing. Remainder of the day at leisure.O/N at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu
AM: Pashupatinath Temple- the most sacred of the Hindu temples in Nepal dedicated to Lord Shiva, built in 1996. We carry on the sightseeing tour of the Patan- A city of architecture and fine arts. Some times known as "town with a Thousand Golden Roofs." Visit Tibetan Handicraft Center at Jawalakhel to watch carpet weaving.

PM: Sightseeing tour of Swayambhunath- the oldest Buddhist shrine. Looking east from here, one can see the entire Kathmandu valley spread out below. A short drive will take you to Bouddhanath- the worlds largest stupa; a sight of great generation to the Buddhist. We continue to Kathmandu Durbar Square- the temple of the Living Goddess and the Royal palace. Finally, visit Kastamandap- a temple built from a single tree from which the Kathmandu derives its name. O/N at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Raft – Gorkha
Early morning breakfast served and takes 2 hours of drives to the raft put in point. White Water Rafting in Trishuli River- over crashing waves and swirling rapids for the excitement of a lifetime. After lunch, drive to (2 and half hours drive) Gorkha- the ancestral home of the Shah dynasty which rules Nepal today. It is from here that King Prithivi Narayan Shah started his conquest of the country's various tiny kingdoms and unified them into a single nation, Nepal. Gorkha Bazaar, the palace dominates the surroundings and is visible from all around the area. O/N at hotel.

Day 04: Gorkha – Pokhara
Leaving behind the tranquil Gorkha, it is about three hours of drive to Pokhara- one of the most picturesque valley in Nepal, 125 miles west of Kathmandu and under the shadow of the Annapurna Ranges. A rare combination of snow- clad mountain, crystal clear lakes, streams, villages inhabited by friendly ethnic tribes.O/N at hotel.

Day 05: Pokhara – Kathmandu
Full day sightseeing of Phewa Lake- the second biggest lake in Nepal. On an island in the middle of the lake is a Hindu shrine for Goddess Barahi. Seti River with breathtaking rush and the bridge over it. Patale Chhangu (Hell's fall) known as David's fall and Mahendra Cave- a large limestone cave full of stalactites and stalagmites make a good destination for about 2 Km. O/N at hotel.

Day 06: Pokhara – Kathmandu
Both take a morning flight to Kathmandu enjoying the mountain scenery and take enough time to go for shopping in Kathmandu or take a drive to Nepali cultural program. O/N at hotel.

Day 07: Departure

Transfer to airport for onward destination. O/N at hotel.
