Overview:

A bit of everything Nepal has to offer.  The historical sights of Kathmandu, white water rafting on the Trishuli River, spot rhinos  If you are lucky, maybe even a tiger at Chitwan National Park, and finally view the majestic Anapurana range of the Himalayas from Sarangkot high above Pokhara.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.
Day 02: Visit Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Kasthamandap. O/N at hotel.
Day 03: Transfer to Raft on Trishuli River. O/N at river bank in tents.
Day 04: Raft & drive to Chitwan. O/N at Jungle Lodge.
Day 05: Jungle activities in Chitwan. O/N at Jungle Lodge.
Day 06: Drive to Pokhara. O/N at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 07: Sightseeing at Sarangkot. O/N at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 08: Flight to Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.
Day 09: Free day in Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.
Day 10: Transfer to airport for onward destination.

 

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01:  Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu. Meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. The tour manager will give pre-tour briefing. Remainder of the day at leisure.O/N at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu
AM: Pashupatinath Temple- the most sacred of the Hindu temples in Nepal dedicated to Lord Shiva, built in 1996. We carry on the sightseeing tour of the Patan- A city of architecture and fine arts. Some times known as "town with a Thousand Golden Roofs".Visit Tibetan Handicraft Center at Jawalakhel to watch carpet weaving.
PM: Sightseeing tour of Swayambhunath- the oldest Buddhist shrine. Looking east from here, one can see the entire Kathmandu valley spread out below. A short drive will take you to Bouddhanath- the worlds largest stupa; a sight of great generation to the Buddhist. We continue to Kathmandu Durbar Square- the temple of the Living Goddess and the Royal palace. Finally, visit Kastamandap- a temple built from a single tree from which the Kathmandu derives its name. O/N at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Whitewater Rafting
Early morning breakfast is served and takes 2 hours of drive to the raft put in point. White Water Rafting in Trishuli River – over crashing waves and swirling rapids for the excitement of a lifetime. O/N at river bank in tents.

Day 04: Whitewater Rafting – Jungle Safari
Rafting is continued after breakfast till the lunchtime & after lunch, we end up with raft & proceed to Royal Chitwan National Park for wildlife activities.Upon arrival meet by the naturalist and transfer to the jungle resort. The manager will brief the guests about the activities. In the late afternoon, the guests will be taken for a jungle safari on elephant back so that they can penetrate deep into the jungle for viewing and photographing wildlife or a jungle walk is organized to experience the abundant bird life and the flora & fauna of the park. If you are lucky, you may see the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger both on nature walk as well on elephant safari. A hearty meal of continental or Nepalese cuisine will be served in the evening around the campfire. O/N at Jungle Lodge.

Day 05: Jungle Safari
Early morning guests will be mounted on elephant back and taken for jungle safari for 2-3 hours penetrating through dense grassland to view wildlife. This grass commonly known as elephant grass is dense and grows to a height of 18-20 ft. It is the favorite habitat of the rhinoceros and other mammals. After breakfast, the guests are taken to our elephant stables where the senior naturalist will give a talk about the habitats of the elephant. Here one may witness the rare scenic of the elephant at bath. Afternoon free to relax. Evening dinner served around the campfire followed by Tharu stick dance. O/N at Jungle Lodge.

Day 06 Jungle safari – Pokhara
After breakfast, guests will be transferred to waiting vehicles for drive to Pokhara- one of the most picturesque valleys in Nepal, 125 mile west of Kathmandu and under the shadow of the Annapurna Ranges. A rare combination of snow-clad mountains, crystal clear lakes, streams, villages inhabited by friendly ethnic tribes. O/N at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 07: Pokhara –Sarangkot
After breakfast, Packed lunch is carried and starts the pleasant hike to Sarangkot – the most popular hilltop offering the superb panoramic view of the Himalayas. Its hike to places within the rim of the Pokhara Valley and walks to the surrounding villages offer captivating glimpses of rural life. Back to Pokhara. O/N at hotel.

Day 08: Pokhara – Kathmandu
Either take a morning flight to Kathmandu enjoying the mountain scenery or take enough time to go for shopping in Kathmandu or take a drive of approx. 5 hours back to Kathmandu. O/N at hotel.

Day 09: Day at leisure in Kathmandu
Free day on your own to go for last minute shopping or to do something of your interest. Evening dinner followed by Nepali cultural program. O/N at hotel.

Day 10: Departure
Transfer to airport for onward destination.
